TODAY WE’RE TALKING TEAL.  Reminiscent of peacock feathers and the depths of the Caribbean sea, teal is hands down my favorite color.  And oh-so-versatile!  If it’s a coastal look you’re after, pair teal with crisp white, grasscloth and weathered wood tones.  For a look that’s bold and elegant, try mixing teal with bright chartreuse, luxe silk curtains and gilt frames.  But, as I mentioned here, we’re taking it outside this week with some fantastic front door makeovers!

I recently came across a gorgeous front door makeover by Jenny, a girl after my own teal heart and friend of Embrace My Space.  Jenny was kind enough to share her front door with the world.  Check it out before and after its transformation:

I just love it when a simple change makes such an enormous impact!  Rather than stealing the show, this contemporary color showcases the beautiful traditional detail of the home’s fresh white trim.

Jenny used Behr Premium Plus Ultra Exterior Satin Enamel color-matched to Glidden’s Totally Teal, which looks amazing on her traditional brick colonial.  Painting your front door is one of the best ways to add personality to your home, and Jenny’s teal front door is certainly a reflection of the stylish young family that lives behind it!

For a little more inspiration, take a look at this teal front door that makes a major impact on an all white facade.

If your front door isn’t positioned to make an impact on your curb appeal, why not go even bigger by giving your garage doors a makeover?

Have you used teal to give your home some major curb appeal?  Has Jenny inspired you to go bold on your home’s traditional facade?  I’d love to hear all about it!
