WELCOME BACK! As I mentioned here, I photographed Larry and John’s Pittsburgh home while I was in town for a visit last week.  Just to fill you in, I recently signed up with Houzz.com to photograph homes and write articles for its Houzz Tours page.  This site has hundreds of thousands (six figures, baby!) of inspirational home design photographs filtered by space and style.  If you have a space to decorate or, like me, are simply obsessed with all things home, you must add Houzz.com to your list of favorites.  Do it.  Now!  I photographed this lovely home for a feature on the Houzz Tours page.  When the article is published I will post it here for you all to check out.  Until then, please enjoy a blissful jaunt through John and Larry’s traditional home that is full of eclectic surprises!

It doesn’t take any more than a glance from the street to tell that this 19th century home is well-loved.  Flowers brimming over window boxes and a lush green archway welcome the owners and their guests into this inviting home.

Spirit-lifting yellow bathes the walls of the foyer, creating a sense of warmth and comfort for all who step inside.

John and Larry’s collection of framed art is displayed salon style in the living room, which is furnished with casual pieces creating a sophisticated, yet livable, space.

A sunny chair and matching ottoman are nestled in the opposite corner of the living room, where a full-length mirror adds style and reflects light back into the space.

A full step into the living room reveals a casually elegant dining room just beyond Larry and John’s cushy white sofa.  The couple switches out the sofa’s light slipcover for a darker number during the colder months of the year.

Once again, Larry and John strike the perfect balance between traditional and casual in this showstopping dining room.  A tiered chandelier that nearly collides with a delicate sparkling centerpiece directly below gives the illusion of crystals dripping down from the ceiling and across the dining table.  Striped walls and light dining chairs compliment the casual, sophisticated vibe set by the living room.

Bright green paint is a game changer in this delightfully different kitchen.  The sink is cradled by an old barber shop countertop turned kitchen work surface.

This cozy daybed is the perfect spot to enjoy a movie in this second floor TV room.  Tiffany blue walls and bright patterned curtains keep the room feeling young and fresh.

Just across the hall, Tiffany blue is put to work again, this time creating the backdrop for a sophisticated office and sitting room.

There are so many interesting stories behind John and Larry’s spectacular home.  If you want to hear them all and see the rest of their spaces, stop back to find a link to the full Houzz Tour article once it is published.  In the mean time, if you or anyone you know has a fabulously unique home, please reach out to me to learn more about how you can be featured in a Houzz Tour!
